Essential Job Functions

Our rapidly growing Salt Lake City location is looking to add a Legal Recruiting & Development Assistant. This individual will join a tightly knit local team which partners closely with our California offices and the broader Firmwide Legal Recruiting and Development Department (LRD).

This individual will support all aspects of Legal Recruiting and Development/Training programs in the Kirkland & Ellis Salt Lake City office including but not limited to: fall on-campus recruiting, facilitation of the Summer Associate Program and lateral hiring as well as maintenance of recruiting databases, statistics and general office duties. The Assistant will also support the Attorney Engagement & Development team and is responsible for assisting the overall administration of attorney training and development.

The ideal candidate will will be an adept and proactive team player with strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Relationships are important so we are looking for someone to build connections among attorneys and staff to achieve results; this position requires the ability to exercise independent judgment and confidentiality.

Specific Job Duties (This list is not exhaustive and may be supplemented and changed as necessary.)
  • Hands on scheduling, event planning and coordination for on-campus interviews and events
  • Assist and support broader team with ongoing strategic projects including lateral recruiting, in-house training (including Diversity & Inclusion sponsored activities) and New Associate Orientation
  • Maintain the Kirkland databases (vi Desktop) including candidate entry and status updates
  • Assist with scheduling candidate callback interviews and overall interview calendar
  • Complete administrative functions including candidate expenses, reimbursements, and HR related forms
  • Facilitate assignment distribution and evaluation process
  • Provide administrative support for events and development programs (which may require lunch hour and evening overtime)

Qualifications & Requirements

Education, Work Experience, Skills
  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and one-plus years of work experience
  • Experience working for a law firm or professional services is preferred
  • The ideal candidate will:
  • Be highly organized, possess excellent proofing and communication (oral and written) skills with a strong attention to detail
  • Display an ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Show a professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills
  • Exhibit a proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint as well as a working knowledge of relational databases
