Description
Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer
Department: Engineering
Reports to: Engineering Supervisor
Job DescriptionThe Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for planning and coordinating manufacturing processes related to new product launches and current product changes. This person is expected to be hands on and participating on the shop floor to ensure all equipment, tooling, documents, and training are on time, relevant up to date.
Primary Responsibilities - Coordinate with program management, product design engineering, and manufacturing teams to meet cost and timing targets for launch programs
- Attend gate reviews and maintain reporting of launch activates
- Coordinate all APQP activates within the plant, coordinate with quality assurance, and develop and/or assist with preparation of PPAP documentation including Process Flow Diagram PFMEA, and Control Plan
- Receive Engineering Bill of Material and covert to Manufacturing BOM. Coordinate with other department to ensure the most recent part is loaded into the system with proper costs.
- Develops and evaluates manufacturing capacity and methods used for current and new product launches and changes
- Recommends and evaluates new equipment and manpower needs for changes and new products
- Discussion with costumer and Program Team to confirm manufacturing feasibility.
- Enter Purchase requisitions as needed.
- Track, document, and report all open issues to closure.
- Develop, publish and analyze advanced quality planning documents, FMEAs, Process Flow Diagrams, Work instructions, Control Charts, Gage R&R studies, and capacity studies
- Troubleshoot concerns and issues that arise during implementation and startup of changed or new product/process equipment

Experience - 5+ years of Tier 1 or Tier 2 Automotive Manufacturing Assembly experience.
- GM experience (OEM/Tier1) preferable.
Education - Bachelor's degree in engineering; Mfg./ME/QE/IE
