Job Description
MGS has an exciting opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our MGS Germantown Manufacturing team.
As a Manufacturing Engineer at MGS, you will support the development, implementation, and optimization of plastic injection molding processes to ensure products consistently meet customer quality requirements at the MGS Germantown Manufacturing facility. Other duties tied into continuous improvement of processes, cost saving plant improvements, ergonomic projects and others may be part of this job at times.

MGS has an exciting opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our MGS Germantown Manufacturing team.
As a Manufacturing Engineer at MGS, you will support the development, implementation, and optimization of plastic injection molding processes to ensure products consistently meet customer quality requirements at the MGS Germantown Manufacturing facility. Other duties tied into continuous improvement of processes, cost saving plant improvements, ergonomic projects and others may be part of this job at times.
Below are additional duties and responsibilities:
- Assist with troubleshooting new or existing plastic injection molding jobs, identifying root causes of issues and implementing corrective actions.
- Lead or assist in cost-saving projects related to plastic molding processes and material utilization.
- Work on process flow improvement projects to optimize efficiency in plastic injection molding operations.
- Improve ergonomic concerns in plastic molding jobs to enhance worker safety and performance.
- Assist in the implementation of large, multi-mold jobs, ensuring coordination of resources and alignment with production goals.
- Support tool qualifications for new molds and ensure they meet required specifications.
- Recommend new or modified components for plastic injection molding machinery to enhance performance.
- Conduct tests, such as process window studies and design of experiments, to investigate equipment performance and optimize plastic injection molding processes.
- Analyze test results and recommend modifications or adjustments to meet specifications.
- Document test procedures, results, numerical data, and recommendations for changes in processes or test methods.
- Identify and document problems relating to the product, process, and quality system, and suggest appropriate solutions.
- Any other duties as assigned.

Experience and Skills
A qualified Manufacturing Engineer candidate would fulfill these requirements:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required. Completion of an accredited two-year technical college program or a four-year university program in a related field of study is preferred.
- Experience in plastics injection molding or a similar field is preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of plastic injection molding processes is preferred.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting injection molding machinery and plastic molding issues is preferred.
- Mechanical skills.
- Knowledge of mold design, materials, and manufacturing processes is preferred.
