Job DescriptionSPECIFIC DUTIES, ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Perform all aspects of necessary duties (ie. Proper usage of tools and instrumentation, rotor balancing, blue print interpretation, record keeping etc.) required to assemble and test dry gas seals of standard and/or non-standard designs.
Calling immediate attention to variations from acceptable criteria and specifications, troubleshooting and recommending solutions to problems associated with seal assemble and testing difficulties.
Installation and setup of standard and non-standard designed seals into the appropriate test rig and operating the rig to testing conditions indicated within the appropriate test plan.
Prepare, organize and maintain documentation as required for seal assembly and testing.
Setup of standard and non-standard piping configurations as required for a given test.
Assist to prepare drawings for assembly/disassembly tools and/or fixtures.
Maintain high quality in all aspects of the job.
Maintain high productivity, as determined by the supervisor in all aspects of the job.
Perform other duties as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Associates Degree in Engineering, Mechanics or Applied Science with courses in mechanical drawing, mathematics, and shop practices.
- One or two years of experience involving the assembly and testing of precision mechanical devices is required.
- Familiarity with the application of equipment and test rig, test procedures and methods, the design and purpose of the components and end products is desirable.
- Must posse a high mechanical aptitude and ability to read blueprints.
- Good oral and written skills are required, including the ability to communicate with customer representatives during witnessed seal testing operations.
