Responsibilities
  • The inspector will be responsible for conducting thorough inspections of welding processes, ensuring the dimensional accuracy of transformer components, and verifying the quality and thickness of paint coatings in accordance with specified standards and customer requirements.
  • The incumbent will meticulously document inspection results, generate comprehensive reports, and collaborate closely with production teams to address any quality-related concerns.
  • Provides timely, detailed reports and photographic evidence of product, packaging, labeling, defects noted, etc.
Skills & Experience Requirements:
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in inspection roles within manufacturing environments.
  • Proficiency needed in Welding inspection techniques- including visual inspection, dye penetrant testing, magnetic particle testing, and ultrasonic testing.
  • Proficiency needed in Dimensional inspection methods - utilizing precision measurement tools, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and optical comparators.
  • Proficiency needed in Paint thickness & inspection procedures - Familiarity with paint thickness measurement devices and coating inspection procedures
Preferred certifications include:
  • AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI), API 510 (Pressure Vessel Inspector),
  • API 570 (Piping Inspector),
  • NACE Coating Inspector Certification.
  • ISO 9001 or ISO 17025 qualifications are advantageous.
Industry Experience:
  • Prior experience in the electrical equipment manufacturing industry or related sectors.
  • Experience with transformer manufacturing processes, such as core assembly, winding, and testing, will be highly valued.
  • Knowledge of industry-specific standards and regulations, such as IEEE, ANSI, and ASTM, is beneficial.

Job type: 1099 contract.

Working setting: in person

Shift Information: Standard factory operational hours: 8 hours a day, 5 days a week.; Shift hours will wary from project to project.

Ability to commute to Pocatello, Idaho
