This is a full-time position (not temp). We are seeking a 3rd Shift Maintenance Supervisor to oversee maintenance and repairs of electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), carpentry, painting, and other building systems.

What You'll Do:

  • Ensure the safety and legality of food.
  • Supervises a team of maintenance personnel to ensure that all systems operate at their highest capability to meet required production schedules, quality, safety standards, costs and schedule priorities.
  • Improves reliability, maintenance and processing methods to reduce cost and avoid loss of production as a result of mechanical downtime.
  • Implements preventative maintenance procedures that are cost effective and increase the operational life of the equipment.
  • Works with and supervises outside contractors and field service technicians.
  • Ensures that maintenance technicians are adequately trained, equipped, and motivated so that the maintenance program can be accomplished in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner.
  • Work with Operations to maintain reliable manufacturing programs to reduce equipment downtime, increase operating efficiency and improve safety.
  • Identify gaps in performance, investigate root cause effectively and efficiently and implement counter measures to eliminate recurrences.
  • Review weekly maintenance schedule and assign work to maintenance employees.
  • Ensure prompt repairs by responding to emergency breakdowns.
  • Develop and execute training plan for maintenance workers.
  • Promote communication as well as good relations between the production and the maintenance department.
  • Keeps consistent compliance with and abreast of all OSHA, SQF, FDA, USDA, and RTE regulations.
  • In the absence of the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for his/her job functions and responsibilities or distributing those duties as seen fit.
  • Perform other duties assigned as required.
  • Oversees the daily workflow of the department’s area of responsibility; schedules and organizes
  • staff to ensure proper staffing of all shifts.
  • Hires and trains new employees within their area of responsibility.
  • Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.

What We Need from You:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering Field (Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical) is required
  • 3 - 5 years of experience working in industrial maintenance.
  • At least two years supervising an industrial maintenance technician.
  • Must have knowledge of production line maintenance including PLCs, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic power.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead others.
  • Fluent in coaching, problem solving.
  • Strong communication and ability to interact and influence a diverse group of people.
  • Able to stand for at least 8-12 hours
  • Be able to lift, carry, handle, and grasp 35-50 pounds.
  • Must be willing to work under various temperatures ranging from typical 45 to 95 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high and will include, but not be limited to, production machinery, computers, printers, telephones, and normal communication. Hearing protection will be required for all in plant activities.
