Amazon Business Flywheel Inputs Analytics team is looking for a Data Engineer to build our data platform and set us up for future growth. Amazon Business (AB) represents an incredible opportunity to address a vast new market segment and customer base for Amazon. As a Data Engineer, you will partner with Software Developers, Business Intelligence Engineers, Scientists, and Product Managers to develop scalable and maintainable data pipelines on both structured and unstructured data. The ideal candidate has solid business judgement, depth of knowledge in data modeling and database architecture, written/documentation skills, and experience with big data technologies (Spark/Hive, Redshift, EMR, +Other AWS technologies).

Key Job Responsibilities

  1. Designing, implementing, and maintaining a cutting-edge data infrastructure to support our large and complex datasets using AWS Services and internal BDT Tools.
  2. Working with Scientists, Product Managers, BI Engineers, and Software Engineers to design, implement and support source of truth data sources.
  3. Developing and optimizing robust ETL pipelines with comprehensive monitoring, alarming, and data quality controls to seamlessly integrate diverse data sources.
  4. Building and scaling an analytical data model that provides self-service access to data and flexibility to integrate data sets from multiple sources.
  5. Manage AWS resources, including exploring and learning the latest AWS technologies to provide new capabilities and increased efficiency.
  6. Force multiplying engineering best practices and fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Experience with SQL.
  2. 3+ years of data engineering experience.
  3. Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Experience with AWS technologies like Redshift, S3, AWS Glue, EMR, Kinesis, FireHose, Lambda, and IAM roles and permissions.
  2. Experience as a data engineer or related specialty (e.g., software engineer, business intelligence engineer, data scientist) with a track record of manipulating, processing, and extracting value from large datasets.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $118,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $205,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
