About the Role:
Vaco is urgently seeking a Senior Accountant/Manager to join our client and support their accounting department during a period of transition. This role involves learning from the outgoing account manager and providing support to two junior accountants. The department is undergoing changes, including bringing outsourced FINRA reporting back in-house by the end of February.

This role involves learning from the outgoing account manager and providing support to two junior accountants. The department is undergoing changes, including bringing outsourced FINRA reporting back in-house by the end of February.
Key Responsibilities:
- Learn and take over monthly and quarterly closing processes.
- Support and manage two junior accountants:
- One with 1 year of accounting degree experience.
- One with a master's degree, starting CPA, with 4 years in Forensics.
- Ensure accurate and complete reporting to various groups, including investment services and auditors.
- Manage FINRA reporting support schedule.
- Reconcile between systems and maintain strong Excel records.
- Review and trace transactions, tie-out, and provide financial reporting support.
- Strong corporate accounting background (Journal Entries, General Ledger, reporting, tracing transactions, tie-out, financial reporting support, reviewing work of others).
- Strong reconciliation skills and advanced Excel experience.
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changes within the organization.
- Excellent communication skills with multiple stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- CPA strongly preferred.
- Investment accounting experience.
- Experience with Workday (GL), BNY Mellon's Pershing (investment reporting), and Xtiva (Commissions).
