Shermco US is seeking an Accounting Manager.

*This position has the option of working a remote or hybrid schedule. Eligible candidates must live within a commutable distance to our corporate office in Irving, TX. to allow for occasional on-site meetings and the initial onboarding process.*

Accounting Manager

This position's main purpose is in the assistance of controlling, reporting, and measuring the information and assets of Shermco Industries. The position produces and reviews financial information critical to business interests as well as creates and presents reports to management regarding accounting data to enable knowledge-based decision making and forecasts.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Prepare financial statements, reports, and records through collecting, analyzing and summarizing GL account information.
  • Prepare and/or review monthly journal entries and account reconciliations, including the reconciliation of subsidiary ledgers to the general ledger.
  • Coordinate and support the preparation of year-end audit for Shermco Industries in coordination with the corporate accounting team.
  • Coordinate and oversee the preparation of federal, provincial, and retail tax filings.
  • Assist in the review of operations and any other ad-hoc reports and requests.
  • Maintain bank accounts, monitor cash requirements daily, and provide information to Treasury to support monthly cash forecasts.
  • Maintain accounting policies and procedures and appropriate internal control environment.
  • Manage, coach, and train accounting team members, including review and approval of work assignments and completion of regular performance reviews.
  • Partner with FP&A team and support budget preparation for specific accounts, e.g. depreciation expense.
  • Support ERP optimization efforts, process improvements, and other special projects as needed.
  • Stay current with reporting requirements, tax regulations, and industry trends. Liaise with external professionals as needed for technical tax and accounting matters.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance or Accounting.
  • CPA professional designation preferred but not required.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience relating to financial reporting and accounting.
  • Candidates must be local to the Dallas Fort Worth area
  • Prior management experience required.
  • Intermediate skills in MS Excel and strong in other MS Office applications.
  • Experience with consolidations and accounting systems such as Microsoft Dynamics Business Central is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of US tax and regulatory requirements preferred.
  • Experience in related industry is a plus.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
