May 31, 2023 Profile: Aon is looking for a Managing Director, Facultative Reinsurance to join its industry-leading Casualty Team in Chicago or New York City! Do you enjoy building relationships with clients, markets, and colleagues while driving innovation? As part of an industry-leading team, you will help empower results for our clients by delivering innovative and effective solutions as part of our Reinsurance Solutions Line. As part of the Broker team, you will work closely in collaboration with other team members and clients focusing on the development of reinsurance solutions. Your Impact as a Managing Director: Make a significant contribution to the success of the company through financial impact of revenue contribution, strategic growth of a product, or enhancement of the company’s professional image and expertise. Direct focus on new Facultative broking production - producing new business and developing sales and marketing strategies designed to cultivate revenue generation opportunities. Use key business parameters to evaluate department efficiency. Act as a key client manager; achieve high client satisfaction results by meeting clients’ reinsurance placement goals. Grow existing accounts and seek new account opportunities. Achieve placement goals at or above set levels and drive the team to do the same. Conduct relevant business discussions at the most senior level (CEO/CFO) effectively and independently. Build and maintain effective working relationships with clients and reinsurers. Establish credibility with clients through day-to-day interactions. Demonstrate problem-solving techniques to best meet clients’ needs; recognized as a solution provider for complex client issues. Set realistic expectations and timelines with clients; ensure all placements are thoroughly reviewed and delivered within acceptable cycle time. Adhere to Aon processes and procedures to deliver exceptional client value. Lead a team of professionals or hold equivalent senior business responsibility. Act as a mentor to broking professionals and develop people to their maximum potential. Handle T&E expenses for self and team within corporate guidelines. Commit to pursuing self-development of knowledge and skills in the insurance, reinsurance, and analytics sectors. You Bring Knowledge and Expertise: A minimum of 12 years broking and/or underwriting commercial lines experience, with a focus on casualty insurance. Previous formal or informal experience in leading direct reports. Exceptional interpersonal skills with capability to interact with major clients to cultivate and maintain strong relationships. Strong market presence within the broking industry. Excellent communicator (both verbally and in writing) with internal and external clients. Ambitious attitude with high accountability for profitability and client satisfaction. Excellent organization and time management skills; able to multi-task and lead projects. Ability to drive teams to deliver the highest in client service, quality, and results. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to make sound business decisions. Known problem-solver who anticipates issues and suggests creative solutions. Ability to adopt and inspire change in support of the business unit’s and company’s goals.
