This role is responsible for developing and executing strategies to maximize US market access and optimize value for Incyte's current and/or pipeline portfolio, including business development opportunities. The individual should have a strong understanding of the US Market Access environment, including pricing, contracting, reimbursement, and market access strategies for new product launches. The candidate should also have a deep understanding of the Oncology landscape and the key stakeholders (e.g., Payer, Community Oncology GPOs, Specialty Pharmacy). This role involves analyzing market trends and working cross-functionally with internal teams to build, align, and execute pricing and contract strategies. This is a headquarters-based role, requiring 4 days in the office and 1 day can be remote. Essential Functions of the Job (Key responsibilities):
Strategy:
Lead efforts in the development of strategic pricing and channel contract strategies that align with business objectives and enable patient access. Ensure all contract strategies have financial justification and sound business judgement. Conduct pricing analyses and financial modeling of business case(s) to support decision making and optimal product pricing and contract strategies, including the assessment of impact on Gross-to-Net (GTN) and Average Selling Price (ASP). Co-develop and assist in execution of negotiation strategies. Analysis & Reporting:
Lead efforts to develop, implement, and manage reporting of contract key performance metrics. Track and analyze key metrics and customer engagement data to proactively drive contract performance. Conduct quarterly review of contract performance with key stakeholders. Model the impact of lifecycle pricing strategies, including implications of legislative changes. Operations:
Manage and maintain GPO membership rosters, ensuring new member eligibility review and communications of member eligibility. Ensure data integrity and accuracy of quarterly rebate and/or admin fees earned through contract arrangements. Review, resolve discrepancies, and validate submitted reporting and invoices. Ensure timely and accurate calculations and processing of invoices. Support Pricing Committee governance and manage the execution of list price changes. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Partner with Market Access Strategy and customer facing teams around prioritized initiatives, including development, execution, and performance of contract strategies. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Forecasting, Finance, Government Pricing) to inform forecast modeling and financial inputs for budget planning. Collaborate with Global Value and Access team, as needed. Support Business Development in assessing price for potential opportunities, where necessary. Other:
Develop and deliver internal and external presentations to support the US Market Access Team. Work in a fast-paced environment, rapidly assimilate information, make decisions, prioritize and manage multiple projects/priorities. Qualifications (Minimal acceptable level of education, work experience, and competency):
Experience:
Minimum of 8 - 10 years experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry. Minimum of 5 years experience in pharmaceutical contracting, pricing, or finance. Oncology experience with oral and IV agents, including knowledge of oncology GPOs and large, organized hospital and community oncology customers, preferred. Skills & Competencies:
Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail. Strategic and innovative mindset. Knowledge of market access dynamics, payer landscape, drug pricing, reimbursement, and GTN principles. Proficient use of Excel, Word, PowerPoint. Excellent presentation and communication skills, with ability to explain complex concepts to diverse stakeholders.
