WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION: Join a passionate team that is focused on design and development of modified cooling products within our extensive HOFFMAN cooling product line. Develop designs and documentation for new and existing products by creating 3D models, drawings, bills of materials (BOM), and other documentation to fully define product for manufacture and ensure specifications are met. Work will include projects with significant scope and/or complexity and minimal direction. Collaborate with multi-functional teams (Operations, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply, Customer Support) to modify and launch products by taking customer specifications from design to prototype to production. Direct and assist with the build of components and assemblies for prototypes and pilot builds. Assist in the development of engineering and drafting standards. Perform tolerance stack analysis of complex assemblies and drawings prior to release of documentation. Initiate/prepare Engineering Change Order (ECO) documentation, including BOM's. Perform required calculations to ensure all dimensions, tolerances and other specifications are accurate as represented. YOU HAVE: Two-year technical degree, preferably in mechanical design Ideally 3+ years of experience in CAD design including sheet metal part design, sub-assemblies, and assemblies 3D CAD modeling experience using SolidWorks a must Knowledge of drafting standards, GD&T, and manufacturing processes Proficiency in mechanical design required, electrical or refrigeration design preferred Experience with ENOVIA PLM system preferred Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as Turret Punch Press, Plasma Cutting, Press Brake, Sheet Metal Stamping, sheet metal inserts (i.e. rivets, rivet-nuts, press fit hardware, etc.), and bending and brazing of copper tubing preferred Excellent problem-solving skills and detail-orientation WE HAVE: A dynamic global reach with diverse operations around the world that will stretch your abilities, provide plentiful career opportunities, and allow you to make an impact every day At nVent, we believe safer systems ensure a more secure world.
