Role Summary The Managing Director, Network Planning sets the long-term strategy and oversees the performance of Alaska Air Group’s network. Reporting to the VP of Revenue Management & Network, this leadership role seeks to maximize the company’s long-term revenue via the creation of competitive & robust network offerings. As a people leader, the MD Network Planning is responsible for building a team and establishing strategic direction for AAG’s $14M+ network. Key Duties Set long-term strategy for the network planning function at AAG, including domestic & international, and flying planned under both the Alaska & Hawaiian brands. Establish strategic goals and direction for team of Network Planning leaders and professionals, with AAG’s long-term profitability at the center. Build and develop a highly competitive network, schedule, and distribution organization. Define and lead competitive strategies to ensure processes are in place to actively monitor network changes at competitor airlines. Collaborate and partner with operational leadership teams to ensure that the published schedule is safe, efficient, and reliable. Closely partner with Airport Real Estate leadership to ensure airport capacity gate asset utilization is maximized. Develop team members through effective performance management and ongoing feedback. Influence company culture through action, presence, and reinforcement of behaviors. Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills Required 10 years of experience in Network Planning, Fleet Planning, Airline Planning, Revenue Management or related analytical field. 5 years of people leadership experience. Bachelor’s degree or willingness to attain a Bachelor's degree within six years of start date. Excellent written, presentation, and verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to drive outcomes in the best interest of the company. Fluency in airline financial fundamentals and economics. Ability and willingness to travel frequently, including international travel. High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum age of 18. Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Preferred Experience in widebody network and/or fleet planning. Salary Range $188,650 - $311,350 / year Salary Details The pay range and total target compensation package listed above is the expected pay offered for this position at the start of employment. Your pay will be based on multiple factors, including location, relevant experience/level, and skillset. Note:
