The Regional Director, Project Management & Engineering, will provide overall above-property oversight of the hotels engineering and maintenance operations by providing advanced level expertise and support for four full-service, lifestyle and convention hotels and their associated parking garages, common/shared spaces, and grounds, as applicable. Across the hotel portfolio, this position will serve as an experienced leader ensuring the highest engineering and maintenance standards through effective project management, delivery of quality engineering, preventative maintenance operations, life-safety systems, and timely management of capital improvements and construction matters within budget guidelines and maximum safety standards. The Regional Director, Project Management & Engineering will also provide visible, ongoing leadership to the Hotel Directors of Engineering and their engineering teams. This position will be based from any of the following hotel locations: Westin Dallas Park Central – 536 guest rooms, 19 meeting rooms (43,283 sq ft) Doubletree Orlando Sea World – 1,042 guest rooms, 40 meeting rooms (82,659 sq ft) Nopsi Hotel New Orleans - 216 guest rooms, 9 meeting rooms (14,000 ft) The Bethesdan, Tapestry Collection – 270 guest rooms, 11 meeting rooms (13,512 sq ft) We are committed to providing you with: Excellent compensation package Operational incentive plan eligibility An exceptional benefit plan for eligible associates & your family members 401K matching program for eligible associates Discounts with our Crescent managed properties in North America for you & your family members Leadership & Team Management: Onboard, lead and train Directors of Engineering (DOEs) and regularly monitor performance for achievement of goals and deliverables, project management timeliness and effectiveness, and budget adherence. Provide guidance and oversight to the DOEs and General Managers during the preparation in hotel engineering budgets including capital expenditures. Participate in P&L reviews for the individual hotels and portfolio as a whole. Partner with hotel People & Culture on timely placement of engineers for any vacancies. Ensure DOEs, their teams and the hotels’ vendors protect, maintain, and improve the building appearance and engineering operations across the portfolio. Ensure 24/7 engineering coverage within the hotels. Create agendas for and lead monthly communication calls and separate 1-on-1 meetings with DOEs. Manage ongoing development efforts and skill-building initiatives for the maintenance teams. Ensure an issue-free workplace for all Engineering leaders and associates. Maintenance & Operations: Ensure all facilities, furniture, fixtures, and landscaping are maintained to the highest standards. Ensure hotel engineering policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs) are in place and leveraged by the hotel engineering teams across the portfolio. Supplement policies/SOPs as needed to differentially contribute to the guest experience and maximum building safety. Monitors the timeliness of engineering team responses to guest requests and emergency calls. Provide additional analysis and diagnosis on recurring trends in R&M issues to address root causes, in partnership with the hotel DOEs. Ensure all hotel building systems, utilities and equipment meet satisfactory standards and peak operating efficiency. Ensure DOEs are executing regular preventive maintenance and hotelwide inspections. Plan and ensure the execution of maintenance programs for all mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, fire, life-safety, and other systems. Respond to escalated emergency situations, natural disaster protocols, customer concerns, and safety hazards. Ensure hotel systems and IT/phone cabling are functioning without issue on a consistent basis. Financial Management and Compliance: Ensure DOEs are tracking capital and maintenance expenses and provide oversight of hotels budgets with monitoring of monthly spend. In partnership with hotel DOEs, co-create scopes of work and collect proposals for needed capex and maintenance work within the portfolio. In partnership with hotel DOEs, manage and negotiate service contracts to ensure competitive pricing and scheduled work. Ensure DOEs document and prepare progress reports and maintenance logs, equipment and supply inventories. In partnership with DOEs, proactively manage insurance exposures, ensuring all life safety systems are properly inspected, maintained, and operating as designed. Ensure compliance with all city, state, and federal license and certification requirements. Requirements of the REGIONAL DIRECTOR, PROJECT MANAGEMENT & ENGINEERING: Requires experience with plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting, and hotel preventative maintenance across the hotel portfolio. Prefer 5+ years of multi-unit leadership and experience overseeing the maintenance and facility operations for multiple hotels. Excellent and regular communication across all stakeholders including but not limited to: DOEs, GMs, vendors, owners/investors. Ability to travel between properties in all portfolio locations. Working knowledge of architectural plans, electrical and mechanical systems, contracts, and related documents. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook. Ability to hire, train, develop and manage multiple engineering teams for high performance.
