Renowned for our specialty services and innovative clinical advances, we strive to make The Johns Hopkins Hospital an exceptional place to work, learn and advance your career.
The Comprehensive Transplant Unit (CTU) is a 32 bed inpatient unit specializing in the care of post-operative abdominal organ (kidney, liver, and pancreas) transplant recipients, living kidney and liver donors, as well as Composite Tissue Allotransplantation (hand, face, and GU) recipients. Working with this unique patient population offers the opportunity to build relationships with patients both before and after their transplant, as well as over the longer term as transplant patients readmitted to the hospital (months, or even years, after transplant) are cared for on the CTU. Education to prepare patients for their new life after discharge is a focus of day to day care. RNs, LPNs, and Clinical Technicians on the CTU train to provide multiple levels of care to this complex patient population including general care, telemetry, and higher acuity intermediate care with continuous hemodynamic monitoring. The CTU team values a culture of learning, teamwork, and continuous improvement- always jumping in to suggest and try out new ideas or ways of doing things!
