Procedure Specialist - Lead
Amentum, RICHLAND, WA
Reports to the Operations Procedures Manager and is responsible for overseeing and maintaining various Project technical procedure processes to support safe and compliant operations of systems and facilities. Performs work in accordance with Plant Operations programs, policies, applicable laws, regulations, Contract, Authorization Basis, and technical requirements. This position will require some possible weekend or on-call work.
This position shall be performed under the day-to-day direction, control, and supervision of WTCC

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Education: HS Diploma
Experience:
12 years plant operations experience, or equivalent technical experience, including technical procedures development and implementation.
OR Associates degree (in a related field) and 10 years plant operations experience, or equivalent technical experience including technical procedures development and implementation.
OR Bachelor's degree (in a related field) and 8 years plant operations experience, or equivalent technical experience including technical procedures development and implementation.
Preferred candidates will have:
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
(EFNM) Exposed Field Non-Manual
Performs desk work, including writing, computer workstation processes, and telephone operation. Arranges for and/or performs presentations, oral reports, planning meetings, and other formal and informal contacts, requiring long periods of sitting. Oversees field activities through inspections, testing and equipment operations, which requires walking, standing, bending, and turning along with wearing of personal protective equipment. Occasional loading, transport, and unloading of tools and/or supplies specific to an activity.
This position is located at the Construction Site (22 miles north of Richland) and works a 4 x 10 schedule, M-Th, 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. - Position requires some possible weekend or on-call work.
Must be able to work in the United States without Sponsorship
Must be able to obtain a Department of Energy (DOE) badge for access to the Hanford site.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
HIRING SALARY RANGE: $112,835.92 - $178,251.96(Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data.)

We are designing and building a one-of-a-kind facility that will turn radioactive and chemical waste left over from World War II and Cold War plutonium production into a form safe for disposal. Your efforts will help protect the nearby Columbia River and the communities, salmon, and wildlife along its shorelines throughout the Northwest.
Sitting at the confluence of the Columbia, Snake and Yakima rivers near two mountain ranges, our community provides access to year-round outdoor recreation, 300 days of sun a year, more than 200 wineries within a 50-mile radius, and the amenities of large cities just a three-hour drive (or short flight) to Seattle and Portland.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES/TASKS
- Supports the Waste Treatment Plant Nuclear Safety Quality Culture by emphasizing the values of safety and quality in the performance of work to protect self, others, and the environment
- Oversees daily work scope of the on-duty shift procedure writer, including reviewing of drafted and completed work
- Provides on-call technical support to the on-duty shift procedure writer as necessary
- Manages the Technical Procedure Periodic Review process, including assigning scope to multiple reviewing organizations
- Communicates with Procedures Supervisors on performance and personnel challenges within the Shift Procedure Writer team
- Anticipates production challenges due to changing or conflicting priorities
- Implements process improvements as required to maximize accuracy of procedure changes and minimize turnaround time
- Coordinates communication among support organizations to ensure optimum efficiency for completing emergent commissioning phase operations
- Performs observations and surveillances of procedure shift writer field evolutions to ensure process activities are conducted safely and correctly
- Assists in conducting new-hire qualification training and developing Procedures continuing training program elements
- Ensures all shift writer training and qualifications are current
