Portrait of a District 97 Leader:
Dates TBD based on Production Schedule for - times are flexible (Monday-Friday, 8am-10pm - based on stage availability and Saturdays, 9:30am-12:30pm) Must be available for cue to cue, tech rehearsals and performances (based on schedule discussed with Director/Artistic Director)

This position requires the performance of light work-which may require exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently to move objects. The position includes close visual acuity, frequent talking, hearing, walking and standing, occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, some stooping, kneeling, crouching and/or crawling and significant fine finger dexterity. The job is performed in non-hazardous environments and a clean atmosphere.

Essential Skills and Responsibilities:
- Read script and score thoroughly to plan and create an artistic vision for the show
- Meet with Director to discuss concept and needs for the production; share design ideas and research
- Propose specialty lights and rentals as needed to convey the story
- Note projections will be used on this production.
- Coordinate and execute lighting rentals drop off and pick up of rental equipment - all special effects (i.e.fog) are the LD's responsibility to coordinate
- Plan and execute lighting design stage time with the Bravo Office for hang and focus and when stage time is requested
- Inventory current stock, order replacements as needed and replace lamp burnouts as needed including at the end of production
- Follow production schedule to meet deadlines as outlined in the production calendar (watch rehearsals, meeting, hang, focus, programming, cue to cue)
- Power off LED's at distro box daily
- Train student stage crew - light operator and spotlight operators
- Must be available for cue to cue, tech rehearsals and performances (based on schedule discussed with Director/Artistic Director)
- Rough in cues as much as possible before Director/LD cue to cue
- Meet and Share all cues with Stage Manager
- Create Spotlight cue sheet before first tech
- Maintain safe, organized and tidy work spaces (stage, booth, storage areas)
- Following final performance - strike all lighting and return submasters to auditorium general light plot
- Restore lighting plot
- Responsible for return of all rentals at close of strike, inventory lighting, lamps, gels and stock
- This job requires flexible hours
Candidate Qualifications:
- LD must know how to operate a scissor lift (no fly system) that raises to 19'
- Experience on the ETC ion lighting console
- Will require heavy lifting, long hours and ladder/lift work
