Job Description

Provides user-end support for several business applications used by all departments. Assists with implementing new procedures and tasks to improve productivity. Ensures mainframe computers are running properly and free of errors, and that all data is being backed up efficiently. Essential Functions/ Job Competencies/ Physical Requirements

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by employees in this job. Employees may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description.

Imports data and adjustments into application for departments to use to calculate expenses. Acts as security administrator to multilayered application system.; edits security and creates new user logins. Assists in setup of hardware including printers and copiers and PC's. Performs preventive maintenance to servers and network systems; monitors daily system backups. Runs, executes, and creates queries to produce reports requested by different departments of the City. Provides senior support to 3rd party hardware. Will be required to drive a City vehicle for City business use. Performs related work as required. Required Education and Experience

Associate's degree or two (2) years of coursework in Information Systems from an accredited* college or university At least three (3) years of experience in applications analysis

Valid Texas Driver License. If applicant holds an out-of-state license, a State of Texas Driver License must be obtained within 6 months of employment.

As part of the minimum requirements for all positions with the City of Laredo, a thorough background check and certified school transcripts will be required from all applicants who are offered employment.
