Position Summary
The Associate Executive Director supports youth and community programs at the Bayview YMCA, leading operations in youth development, family programs, camps, youth sports, and other community initiatives. Reporting to the Senior Executive Director, this role collaborates with program directors, staff, volunteers, and stakeholders to ensure programs are safe, impactful, and aligned with strategic goals. Responsibilities include staff development, fiscal management, program design, and community engagement improvement in the branch's overall operating performance, fidelity, and community impact
Job Responsibilities Lead and manage youth and community programs, ensuring safety, quality, and strategic alignment. Supervise and develop staff and volunteers, fostering growth and collaboration. Oversee branch operations, including budgeting, program development, marketing, and fundraising. Collaborate with the Senior Executive Director to implement strategic plans and annual goals. Cultivate community relationships and partnerships to support YMCA programs and initiatives. Promote a culture of philanthropy, engaging stakeholders in storytelling and fundraising efforts. Ensure compliance with YMCA policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. Represent the branch at association-level groups and special events Salary Description
This is a full time exempt position. The salary range is $90,004 - $115,000. This rate is based on salary benchmarking and aligns with grant fund allocations for the role. Final compensation will be determined by the candidate's qualifications and experience, in accordance with grant funding requirements and organizational guidelines.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in community or nonprofit leadership At least 5 years of experience in youth programming or a related field 5+ years in a supervisory role Experience with budget and grant management Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and basic digital tools YMCA approved CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications Preferred
Experience with Salesforce or similar systems Fluency in additional languages such as Cantonese, Mandarin, or Spanish Familiarity with California state licensing requirements and after-school programming YMCA leadership certifications (e.g., Multi-Team Leader Certification)
