This role will strategize and drive best-in-class social presence, digital influencer relationships & initiatives, social media strategy, content, and PR for Benefit Cosmetics in the US. The Senior Director, Marketing Communications will enhance Benefit's brand presence and build strong online communities through our various social media outlets. They play a critical role in driving brand marketing communications and developing strategies to optimize our share of media, buzz and brand love to amplify our unique identity, storytelling and equity.
What You'll Do:
  1. Develop strategic plan and execute marketing plans to grow brand awareness/advocacy & drive incremental earned exposure for our key products while bringing brand DNA to life via influencer, content, PR, social marketing.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional marketing teams on all initiatives to drive acquisition & engagement and ensure synergy across all social channels.
  3. Lead and drive influencer event activations in collaboration with Global and US Marketing Teams.
  4. Drive content strategy, planning, and calendar across all social platforms with a strong focus on TikTok.
  5. Manage, mentor, and motivate direct reports to encourage their professional development while providing supervision and guidance.
  6. Manage PR, Social Strategy, Content creator, and Influencer teams in leading and building innovation in the dynamically changing social, press, and influencer space to maintain competitive advantage.
  7. Ideate, propose, and develop disruptive partnership opportunities and social/PR-driven brand campaigns for product launches or key initiatives through influencer integration, co-branded partnerships, or limited-life collaborations.
  8. Build and nurture collaborative relationships with key influencers, media outlets, editors, podcasters, digital outlets, and opinion formers to ensure strong awareness and brand buzz.
  9. Strategize with the Influencer team on brand partnerships that include strategic communications opportunities or collaborations.
Qualifications:
  1. 7-10 years marketing or brand marketing experience including a proven track record of social campaigns, influencer marketing success.
  2. Strong strategic vision and creative skills balanced by a highly analytical, hands-on, and detail-oriented approach.
  3. Strong leadership / cross-functional relationship-building skills.
  4. Excellent project management and project planning skills.
  5. Sound judgment and the ability to make decisions and present recommendations with clarity and conviction.
  6. Detail-oriented while understanding the “big picture.”
  7. Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills both verbal and written.
  8. A sense of urgency, high energy, and a roll-up-your-sleeves attitude.
  9. Articulate thinker with an ability to take creative direction, react quickly, and interact productively during brainstorming meetings.
  10. Passion for fashion and beauty.
  11. Passion and knowledge of digital trends and best practices – savvy about all social media channels and the competitive landscape in digital.
  12. Experience with platform analytics tools.
Schedule:
  1. Hybrid - requires onsite presence weekly to a Benefit Office.
The target salary range for this position in California is $195,000-$225,000 annually. The actual salary offered is based on market location and will depend on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, years of relevant experience; certifications or other professional licenses held; other legitimate, non-discriminatory business factors specific to the position; and the geographic location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will perform the job. This position is eligible to earn an annual bonus.
