Role Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
This Position will manage the Zoetis Pork business for assigned accounts .
The desired location for the position with be within IN, OH, KY, or MI. The Strategic Account Manager (SAM) is responsible for being the primary contact and key relationships manager for assigned Strategic Pork Producer Accounts, Veterinary Accounts, and prospect accounts. The SAM is responsible for developing strategic account plan designed to maximize Zoetis sales with assigned account(s). The SAM is a leader and trusted business partner responsible for developing intimate knowledge of the Customer's business model, in addition to serving as the account "expert or quarterback", helping to coordinate all Zoetis activities with the assigned account(s). POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for developing and growing business partnerships with all business units of the assigned customer(s). This new approach will include but not be limited to: Management of Zoetis customer relationship with vertically integrated Global Pork Procedures. In-depth understanding of customer as a demonstrated and communicated through a comprehensive business plan. Conducting activities and C Suite interactions that deepen our strategic partnership and Zoetis portfolio specification. 25% of time at a minimum spent on farm, interacting with and engaging all stakeholders. Demonstrating the value of our portfolio through a understanding of our customers' needs, segments they sell into and the steps necessary to demonstrate value. Effective use and data entry of all appropriate CRM functions. Develops, coordinates, and guides the Account(s) strategy, which is designed to position Zoetis as a "Trusted Advisor" and optimize revenue for all key products, within assigned account(s). Leads all aspects of Strategic Account's business plan development and execution. Negotiates and manages contracts, programs, Product Focus Funds and Value Models with the assigned account(s) to optimize business results. Works with all relevant Zoetis stakeholders/depts (Technical Services, Outcomes Research, Marketing, Finance, Net Revenue Management) to influence product/service positioning working at all to time support the account(s) and Zoetis best interest. Provide insight into Zoetis management on account(s) market, business, and growth strategies to assist in defining long term relationships and strategies and supporting product promotions. Coordinates with Field Force and Headquarters resources to effectively create and leverage synergies and opportunities between Headquarters, the Field Force, and the Strategic Account(s). EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Four-year college degree required Five years of equivalent of demonstrated sales and account management success. Experience in pork business or equivalent business preferred. Extensive hands-on swine farm experience and expertise. TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIREMENTS Candidate must possess demonstrated success in the following capabilities: In-depth understanding of large-scale pork production and fresh/ processed meats sales of branded products Marketing acumen involving branded products Strategic Leadership Skills Integrated marketing Perspectives Organized Customers Business Acumen Zoetis Business Acumen Subject matter expert Analytical expertise Creative Solution seeking skills PHYSICAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS The position will require a valid driver's license. Willingness to travel to customer locations across multiple states. Ability and willingness to travel overnight to include some weekends ~ 50% Full time Regular Colleague
