About the Role:
We are seeking an innovative and strategic leader to join our team as the Head of BSA/AML and Compliance. In this pivotal role, you will report directly to executive leadership and oversee the compliance team and serve as the designated BSA/AML Officer. You will ensure full adherence to regulations and requirements, including BSA, AML, CIP, OFAC, FinCEN, and the US Patriot Act.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership:
Provide strategic direction and support to the compliance team, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence. Regulator Expertise:
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of BSA/AML, OFAC regulations, and related compliance requirements. Compliance Oversight:
Manage and ensure adherence to compliance requirements, including UAR submissions, for each sponsor financial institution. Advisory Role:
Deliver tailored compliance and regulatory solutions to FinTech partners, aligning with business objectives and risk management practices. Process Collaboration:
Partner with relevant teams on KYC, KYBC, and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) processes to ensure robust customer verification protocols. Data Analysis:
Monitor and analyze reports and transaction data to identify trends, mitigate risks, and detect suspicious activities. Strategic Reporting:
Prepare and present BSA/AML-related reports to senior leadership and the Board of Directors. Training Development: Design and implement comprehensive training programs to ensure team and organizational adherence to BSA compliance standards. Risk & Audit Management:
Lead BSA Risk Assessments and coordinate audits to evaluate compliance program effectiveness. Travel Requirements:
Travel as necessary (10% to 15%) to support compliance operations and collaboration with partner institutions. About You: Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, economics, or a related field. Professional Experience: Minimum of 5+ years in Compliance and AML roles, including leadership experience. Regulatory Expertise: Deep understanding of BSA/AML Compliance frameworks, regulatory requirements, and interpretation. If outside WA, open to relocating.
