Your Experience

Education:

A completed degree in Tax Law, Business Administration with a focus on Taxation, or a related field. Additional qualifications such as Certified Tax Advisor, Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or a Master's in Taxation are an advantage. Professional Experience:

At least 7-10 years of experience in international tax law, ideally in a leadership position. Experience in managing or establishing a tax department or working as a Tax Manager in a multinational company is desirable. Tax Compliance:

In-depth knowledge of Tax Compliance, particularly in areas like corporate tax, VAT, payroll taxes, and indirect taxes in international markets (Germany, USA, UK, France, Spain, Netherlands, Italy). Tax Strategy and Advisory:

Experience in developing and implementing tax strategies, particularly in the areas of Transfer Pricing, international tax law, corporate structures, M&A transactions, and financing. Tax CMS:

Proven experience in building and implementing a Tax Compliance Management System (Tax CMS) and in developing and maintaining Transfer Pricing documentation. Internationalization:

Experience in the internationalization of tax structures and processes, especially in expanding into new markets and optimizing tax structures globally. Collaboration with external tax advisors:

Solid experience in managing and working with external tax advisors globally, particularly in areas such as tax filings, tax audits, and complex tax issues across various countries. Project Management:

Experience in leading and managing tax-related matters in M&A transactions, due diligence (DDs), financing rounds, company formations, and restructurings. Leadership : Experience in leading and developing teams, particularly in an international and dynamic environment. Ability to communicate complex tax issues effectively and act as a strategic partner to senior management. Technology Competence:

Familiarity with modern ERP systems and tax software, as well as experience in the digitalization and automation of tax processes. Language Skills:

Proficient in German and English; additional language skills are an advantage for succeeding in an international environment.

Your Mission

As Team Lead / Head of Tax, you will take responsibility for building and leading the global tax department. You are responsible for establishing an internal tax function focused on Tax Compliance, insourcing of tax functions, and the internationalization of tax processes. You report directly to the EVP Finance and play a key role in the further development of the finance organization.

You ensure that we are tax-compliant in all relevant jurisdictions and develop a Tax Compliance Management System (Tax CMS) that minimizes tax risks and ensures compliance with global tax requirements. With your expertise, you will shape the tax department to support scalable international growth and establish a foundation for capital market readiness.

Your Responsibilities

Leading the global tax department:

Responsibility for the strategic direction and leadership of the global tax department. Build and expand a small but powerful in-house tax department that handles international challenges and complex tax issues. Global tax compliance and oversight:

Ensure compliance with tax regulations in all relevant jurisdictions (Germany, USA, UK, Spain, France, Netherlands, Italy), including the timely filing of tax returns (corporate tax, VAT, payroll taxes, and other indirect taxes), as well as regular review and updating of tax documentation to ensure continuous compliance. Leading tax audits:

Responsibility for ongoing tax audits and the approval of tax returns and documentation for submission by external tax advisors. Transfer Pricing:

Create, maintain, and update transfer pricing documentation to comply with global tax regulations, including reviewing the allocations, contracts, accounting instructions, and ensuring the quality of all documentation. Tax risk management:

Build and continuously improve a Tax Compliance Management System (Tax CMS) to minimize tax risks and ensure compliance with global tax requirements. Tax advisor coordination:

Manage and serve as the point of contact for external tax advisors in all relevant countries. Collaborate closely with external consultants to ensure compliance with local tax laws and optimize global tax processes. Tax Business Partner:

Provide strategic tax advice on tax clauses and operational tax matters for finance, legal, accounting, and sales teams. Tax strategy:

Develop and implement tax strategies in areas such as transfer pricing, international tax law, corporate structures, M&A transactions, and financing. Support C-level decision-making by providing clear, well-founded tax advice and solutions. Projects:

Responsibility for tax issues in M&A transactions, due diligence (DDs), financing rounds, company formations, and restructurings.
