As Tax Manager, your responsibilities will include direct taxes, transfer pricing, VAT and indirect tax. You will: Lead the corporate tax management in Italy, ensuring standardized tax processes and sustainable tax planning. Have a close interaction with BASF’s group tax department regarding tax, intercompany strategies, tax coordination and tax reporting. Drive all local direct tax (incl. transfer pricing) topics from planning to controversy, process optimization and risk assessment. Ensure correct corporate tax compliance (tax returns and other tax filings). Be responsible for internal controls in tax processes: overseeing tax operations, compliance, and documentation in close cooperation with the respective local GB Teams. Manage local tax risks and support tax health checks. Manage direct tax (incl. transfer pricing) audits, controversy and litigation. Observe tax law developments and its implications. Implement and maintain policies, regulations and guidance. Be responsible for maintaining an efficient early awareness reporting for all tax risks within Italy. Business partnering with internal and external stakeholders, including complex financial analysis and modelling to support decisions. Provide tax advice in business transactions, corporate restructurings and cross-functional projects. Perform “local tax due diligence” in case of M&A projects. Support the local VAT Manager and Team on indirect tax advice to the different business functions. Support project status, giving expert, timely and practical advice to help others make decisions and give practical support in the resolution of complex matters. Ensure the company alignment with new indirect tax legislation and tax initiatives, partnering with all involved functions in order to ensure efficient implementation of the required processes and systems in collaboration with the local VAT Manager. Proactively update the tax and finance teams, ensure constant alignment with the evolution of indirect tax regulations. Support the local VAT manager in case of indirect tax audit and controversy and being part of the relationship with local tax authorities and external advisors. Support the local VAT manager in case of topics concerning the effective management of customs duties and customs audits. QUALIFICATIONS

The candidate will hold a degree in Economics, (Tax) Law, or Finance and preferably additional qualification as certified Tax Advisor (m/f/d) or Chartered Financial Analyst. A minimum of ten years of professional experience in tax & transfer pricing, ideally in a multinational and/or international tax advisory firm. A strong knowledge of international transfer pricing and indirect tax laws. A consolidated experience in managing transfer pricing operations, audits and large data sets. A proactive, independent and structured working style, with the ability to stay updated on tax rules and share knowledge. Native-level proficiency in Italian is required. Fluency in English, written and spoken, is a must. BENEFITS
