Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant - Trauma Surgery, UMass

We are seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our busy Level 1 trauma service. This is a part-time position, working 24 hours per week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and rotating weekends and holidays. Shifts are 12 hours each.

Major Responsibilities:

* Provide comprehensive care for trauma patients in collaboration with the trauma surgery team. * Perform diagnostic evaluations, surgical assistance, and trauma care management. * Independently manage trauma cases in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. * Coordinate post-trauma follow-up care and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team. * Document patient outcomes to assess care effectiveness. * Participates in department driven practices including on call scheduling, rotating weekends, etc. * Provides trauma education to other caregivers. * Maintains competencies as directed by the division.

Position Requirements:

* Must meet American College of Surgeons standards for APPs on a Level 1 trauma service. * ATLS certification required within one year of hire. * Master's or Doctoral degree from an accredited NP or PA program with board certification. * Massachusetts Medical license. * Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) & Basic Life Support (BLS).

Preferred Experience:

* Prefer 1-3 years of clinical experience. * Surgical and trauma experience required. * Ability to work independently in high-stress situations. * Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
