Job Details: We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Permanent Cost Accountant to join our fast-paced manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in our finance team, providing detailed cost information not supplied by general financial accounting, facilitating informed decision making, and contributing to the strategic growth of our company. This role requires a deep understanding of cost behavior and the ability to analyze and interpret complex data. If you are a dedicated, analytical, and proactive professional with excellent problem-solving skills, this is the perfect opportunity for you.
Responsibilities: Conduct ongoing analysis of process constraints, target costing projects, margin analysis, and tracing costs back to underlying activities. Implement cost standards for materials and labor. Prepare, analyze and report weekly, monthly, quarterly gross margin analysis by product, by customer type. Assist in month-end closing, prepare journal entries as necessary, analyze inventory evaluation, inventory roll forward. Analyze cost accounting data and assist with cycle count/physical inventories. Maintain internal control documentation and test internal controls. Prepare detailed account analysis and reconcile sales, cost and inventory, and liability accounts. Review and analyze inventory and margin reports, conduct research and perform analytical studies in regard to cost analyses and profitability. Support and assist internal department reporting requirements such as audit schedules, tax schedules and others. Ensure timely submission, accuracy and validity of inventory, gross margin schedules to management. Work in special projects as required.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. CPA or CMA certification will be an added advantage. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a cost accounting role in a manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and experience with month-end close process. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent technical skills regarding cost accounting and understanding of manufacturing operations and financial processes. Ability to accurately prepare daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. High attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Knowledge of GAAP and regulatory standards is highly desirable.
