Are you a detail-oriented, organized and experienced Payroll Manager? We are a leading player in the Construction industry, seeking a highly skilled Permanent Payroll Manager to join our dynamic team. This is an exceptional opportunity to showcase your expertise and leadership skills in a fast-paced, challenging environment.
Responsibilities:
As our Permanent Payroll Manager, you will be at the heart of our operations, ensuring the smooth and efficient execution of our payroll functions. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Overseeing and managing the preparation, distribution, and reporting processes for payroll. 2. Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices. 3. Facilitating audits by providing records and documentation to auditors. 4. Identifying and recommending updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures. 5. Participating in decision-making processes regarding changes to payroll. 6. Administering benefits, commissions, and other payroll additions and deductions. 7. Managing and resolving issues relating to payroll production. 8. Interacting with auditors, management, and other stakeholders. 9. Supervising, mentoring, and developing the payroll team.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need to be a strong leader with an exceptional ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Here are the qualifications we are looking for:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field. 2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a payroll management role, preferably within the construction industry. 3. Extensive knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes. 4. Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll regulations. 5. Experience with multi-state payroll and bi-weekly payroll. 6. Proven ability to supervise and lead a team. 7. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 8. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. 9. Proficient with payroll software as well as Microsoft Office Suite or related software. 10. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
