Are you an accounting professional with a knack for financial analysis and a passion for the manufacturing industry? We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join our dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity to bring your expertise in financial accounting, cost accounting, and inventory management to a thriving manufacturing company. As a Staff Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining our financial records, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments, and ensuring our financial operations run smoothly and effectively.
Responsibilities:
As a Staff Accountant, your responsibilities will include:
1. Managing all aspects of accounts payable and accounts receivable. 2. Preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP. 3. Conducting regular ledger processes and reconciliations. 4. Assisting with budget preparation and financial planning processes. 5. Performing financial analysis to guide business decision-making. 6. Utilizing accounting software, preferably SAGE and JD Edwards or other ERP systems, to maintain records and prepare reports. 7. Applying cost accounting methods to achieve accurate representation of cost center performance. 8. Coordinating tax preparation activities, including filing and reporting requirements. 9. Managing inventory records and conducting regular audits to ensure accuracy. 10. Collaborating with internal and external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance. 11. Participating in the ongoing development and implementation of organizational strategies and best practices related to finance and accounting.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Staff Accountant position should have the following qualifications:
1. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field. 2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in financial accounting, with a focus on the manufacturing industry. 3. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with SAGE software, JD Edwards or other ERP systems. 4. Solid understanding of financial and cost accounting principles, specifically GAAP. 5. Proven experience in managing accounts payable and receivable, tax planning, and inventory management. 6. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to create financial reports and conduct cost analyses. 7. Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task. 8. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. 9. Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team, on multiple projects. 10. Professional certification such as CPA or CMA is preferred.
