Knowledge of statute, rule, and policies associated with area of responsibility, including Health Education, Resiliency Education, Substance Use and Abuse Prevention Education, Child Trafficking Prevention, Required Instruction, and state required courses. • Provide appropriate leadership regarding standards and instructional support, managing multiple projects, including the coordination of health education grants. • Responsible for providing leadership in the development, revision and implementation of the Florida Standards and corresponding courses for Health Education K-12. • Plan, develop, and organize professional learning opportunities for educators related specifically to the implementation of the Florida Standards. • Assist in the implementation of curricular initiatives such as the Course Code Directory, instructional materials adoptions, and State Board of Education rules related to Health Education K-12. • Dissemination of information to internal and external stakeholders to support standards-based Health Education. • Participate in the activities of professional organizations as appropriate to provide statewide leadership for K-12 Health Education and implement statewide initiatives. • Assist with development and implementation of integrated projects within the Bureau. Employees with up to 5 years of creditable service earn 8.667 hours per month, with 5 to 10 years earn 10.833 hours per month and those with over 10 years of service earn 13 hours per month. Employees in Senior Management Service and Selected Exempt Service positions are credited with 176 hours of annual leave upon appointment.
