Job Description
We are seeking an Accounting Assistant to support a local property management firm based in Santa Barbara, CA. In this role, you will be responsible for various accounting tasks, including accounts receivable and payable, tenant management, and mail handling. You will also provide administrative support and manage software systems. This role offers a contract to permanent employment opportunity.
Responsibilities:
• Manage accounts receivable and payable, ensuring payments are processed on time and accurately.
• Oversee tenant payments and records, including issuing rent statements and tracking payment schedules.
• Handle incoming and outgoing mail, including the shipment of important documents.
• Prepare and deposit company checks, and reconcile financial transactions.
• Assist in managing detail-oriented financial tasks.
• Provide administrative support, including calendar management, scheduling appointments, and arranging meetings.
• Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks and Excel for invoicing, account reconciliation, and financial reporting.
• Communicate effectively with tenants, clients, vendors, and other stakeholders.
• Deliver excellent customer service, handling inquiries, and resolving issues related to accounts or services.
• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems
• Knowledge of QuickBooks
• Auditing skills
• Capability to perform Bank Reconciliations
• 2+ year of previous accounting/bookkeeping experience
