QUALIFICATIONS:
Two years of relevant work experience within the past five years with a Bachelor's degree, four years within the past 8 years with an Associate's degree.

JOB GOAL
To help students learn about: jobs availability in cybersecurity, how to secure and monitor enterprise networked environments, detect potential threats and risks found when devices are connected online, how to prepare for industry recognized credentials for careers in the Network Security pathway. Furthermore, students will: understand security threats, meet US Department of Defense Standards, monitor secure hybrid environments, including cloud, mobile, and IoT.
ESSENTIAL TEACHING FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Follow all rules, policies and procedures, along with state and federal regulations pertaining to school issues.
Plan a program of study that, as much as possible, meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students and is compatible with the school, district and state guidelines.
Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.
Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and, in harmony with the goals, establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects, and the like to communicate these objectives to students.
Employ instructional methods and materials that are most appropriate for meeting stated objectives.
Assess the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provide progress reports as required.
Counsel with colleagues, students, and/or parents on a regular basis.
Assist the administration in implementing all policies and/or rules governing student life and conduct, and for the classroom, develop reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure, and maintain order in the classroom in a fair and just manner.
Plan and supervise purposeful assignments for students and evaluate their job performance. Strive to maintain and improve professional competence. Participate in the development and support of the broad school vision.
Attend school staff meetings, serves on staff committees and carries out non-instructional duties as required or assigned.
Attend annual CTE Summer Conference provided by NCDPI state consultants to keep up with the most recent changes to Cybersecurity and the Network Security pathway.
Work with School Administration, Guidance, and Career Development Coordinator to recruit students into the Cyber Security Program.
Perform related duties and responsibilities as required by the Principal.
Cooperate with other CTE faculty in promoting activities of a FBLA, SkillsUSA, or TSA Career Technical Student Organization (CTSO) group. Serve as an advisor for CTSO group.
Terms of Employment:
Ten-month employment
Starting Salary and/or Grade:
Salary based on state salary scale and years of experience
Evaluation:
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board, local and state policy on evaluation of teachers.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Demonstrate advanced aptitude in the Cybersecurity and/or Networking field.
Demonstrate strong content knowledge.
Possess requisite math, writing, reading and communication skills. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing; ability to communicate well with school personnel, students, and parents.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as necessitated by work assignment.
Ability to maintain order and discipline in a classroom.
Ability to constantly monitor the safety and wellbeing of students.
Recruit, encourage, and guide students in the construction courses and industry.
Comply with confidentiality requirements in local, state and federal policies and statutes.
Physical ability (able to exert up to 30 pounds of force occasionally) and dexterity to perform the duties and responsibilities of the job.
Ability to work independently, meet deadlines and accomplish specific tasks as requested.
Ability to manufacture good quality product at the set rate of output.
