Job Description:

As a Patient Financial Advocate (PFA), you'll be part of the Medical Financial Solutions (MFS) department, using a holistic approach to secure payment of patient balances on behalf of hospital clients. Your primary role will be to take inbound phone calls in a fast-paced call center, engaging in scripted conversations with patients to collect their portion of the account. This role empowers you to use your analytical skills to determine patient eligibility for additional resources to settle financial obligations.

Your day-to-day role will include:

  • Making and receiving calls: Initiate arrangements for patients to pay their portion of the account.
  • Responding to billing inquiries: Address patient questions about their accounts.
  • Negotiating payments and payment plans: Work with patients to find payment solutions.
  • Processing credit card payments: Ensure payments are made efficiently.
  • Escalating complex billing issues: Refer high-complexity billing problems to a supervisor.
  • Meeting daily production requirements: Exceed expectations and achieve your goals.
  • Adhering to regulations: Follow all applicable disclosure and collection rules and regulations.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Call center experience: At least 1 year of recent experience.
  • Medical/insurance/billing experience: Ideally with remote work experience.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.69 - $17.69
