The
Warehouse Operations Manager
will plan, organize, direct, arrange, evaluate and is responsible for the operations and budget of warehouse facilities, including the identification of opportunities for warehousing operation improvements. Oversees the safe receipt, storage, retrieval and timely dispatched of goods. It is also responsible that workplace health and safety requirements are met and take responsibly for the security of everyone in the building and the stock. This person is also in charge of meeting productivity targets, to manage teams and deal with personnel issues such as recruitment, training and discipline of staff. Key Responsibilities:
Performs quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision. Interacts professionally with clients, employees, customers, and suppliers. Works effectively as a team contributor on all assignments. Works independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and peers. Motivates, organizes and encourages teamwork within the workforce to ensure that productivity targets are met. Trains staff, monitors their performance and progress. Communicates with other departments, staff groups and internal customers. Oversees stock control and processing orders. Ensures that quality, accurate delivery and budget objectives are met. Responds and deals with internal customer communication in the most effective way available. Keeps stock control systems up to date and planning future capacity requirements. Produces regular reports and statistics as needed. Ensures the health, safety, cleanliness and security of the work environment. Oversees the planned maintenance of vehicles, machinery and equipment. Preferred Qualifications:
College degree or degree is highly desirable in a related discipline related to facility operation and maintenance or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience in administration. Several years of progressively responsible experience in warehouse operations managing several exempt and non-exempt employees. Has a minimum of three to five years multi-unit experience supervising exempt employees. Has strong communication skills; the ability to invoke conflict resolution skills effectively and the ability to communicate with all levels of management. Has the ability to operate Web based ordering systems, process customer requests, changes to orders and client profiles. Proficient with word processing and spreadsheet applications, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with order processing system or an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system is a must.
