Starting Salary Range: $112,000 - $127,000 - depending on experience Location: Lynnwood, WA Classification: Exempt Must be eligible to work in the U.S. - Sponsorship not available General Position Summary: Leads technical and financial development of turnkey energy projects including coordination and execution of Investment Grade Audit's and Energy Services Proposals. This requires the PD to lead a development team consisting of Energy Engineers, Estimators, Mechanical Engineers & Project Managers as well as be the primary customer contact during the process. The position necessitates strong engineering and technical capabilities, understanding of energy and utilities, robust financial and marketing aptitude, innovative mind set, and strong written and verbal communication with all types of client stake holders Essential Job Functions: Increase annual revenue by initiating new contacts with potential customers and fostering existing customer relationships. Utilize strong interpersonal communication skills with internal and external customers to identify and develop projects that provide solutions to our clients needs. Qualify project leads and limit risk through legal, financial and technical screening. Analyze existing facilities systems and operating characteristics including energy efficiency, mechanical systems, HVAC, electrical, lighting, water, controls, waste heat recovery, and building envelope. Robust understanding of thermal production technologies including but not limited to cogeneration, micro-turbine, turbine, and waste heat recovery. Develop demand side conservation and supply side strategies. Develop power, fuel, and thermal dispatch strategies and agreements. Develop building baseline operating costs. Develop complex life cycle cost modeling and prepare financial models incorporating ROI, life cycle costing, and internal rate of return, net present values, accounting rate of return, and simple pay-back. Analyze and develop beneficial facility conservation measures and infrastructure improvement projects. Perform and supervise preliminary and detailed facility audits to identify energy conservation measures and/or opportunities. Coordinate and lead facility site visits and communicate with outside vendors as it pertains to Utility Conservation Measures (UCMs). Assist sales effort in identification and qualification of potential projects. Perform and supervise preliminary and detailed facility audits to identify energy conservation measures and/or opportunities. Lead the development of preliminary and final proposals. Lead client meetings and presentations. Regular attendance and promptness are considered part of each employee's essential job functions. Analyze blueprints and perform site surveys to identify mechanical, electrical, and control systems and determine facility operational characteristics. Apply building energy simulation programs to develop energy, cooling, and heating load-building models using modeling software. Develop design concepts and other written documentation for facility improvement measures; including accurate descriptions, savings potential, cost estimates, incentives/grants, payback and M&V procedures. Understand and evaluate energy demand & supply side saving opportunities. Create performance assurance plans and assist with performance contracts. Oversee the monitoring of project performance (particularly those that include guaranteed savings). Attend industry networking events including supporting the business through speaking opportunities as well as write thought leadership content for published and social media. Capable of analyzing and thinking strategically Supervisory Responsibility : • Lead development teams consisting of Energy Engineers, Estimators, Mechanical Engineers and Project Managers, external vendors/subcontractors, as well as be the primary customer contact during the development process Education/ Experience Requirements Needed to Perform the Essential Duties of the Job: • Bachelor's degree in engineering or another related field. • 10 years of experience in the engineering field• 5-10 years energy experience developing ESCO projects Licensing or Other Special Certifications Required: • Professional Engineer License preferred.• Maintain a valid Drivers License and satisfactory driving record.• Certified Energy Manager (CEM) certification preferred.• LEED certification preferred.UMC is proud to be built on a foundation of 100 years of consistent business growth.
