Summary:
The Manufacturing Engineer will support New Capital Introduction (NCI) activities, daily continuous improvement (CI) initiatives, and design new tooling to address assembly process challenges. The role also involves reviewing, updating, and developing assembly documentation, such as Standard Work, PFMEA, Control Plans, and SFMEA.

Role & Responsibilities:
• Support NCI activities, including process and tooling implementation.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives in large engine assembly processes.
• Design and procure tooling to resolve assembly process challenges.
• Update assembly documentation, including Standard Work, PFMEA, Control Plans, and SFMEA.
• Procure parts through NexGen (training provided).
• Collaborate with Tool Shop, Central Shop, and Facility Engineering on issued jobs.
• Write tool orders (RFEs and SWOs) to Facility Engineering (training provided).

Typical Day:
• Work on CI cards and related tooling designs.
• Update and maintain assembly process documentation.
• Follow up on jobs and procure necessary parts for assembly lines.
• Collaborate with team members and departments for project execution.
• Perform a mix of office and shop floor work.

Skills & Education Requirements:
Education:
• College degree required.
Technical Skills (Required):
• Proficiency in Microsoft O365.
• Experience with tool design software (e.g., CAD, Creo, Catia).
Technical Skills (Desired):
• Project Management, Data Analysis, and Root Cause Analysis.
Soft Skills (Required):
• Strong communication skills.
• Growth mindset and collaborative attitude.

Disqualifiers/Red Flags:
• Lack of tool design experience.
• Former Caterpillar employees require input from their previous Caterpillar Work Director.
