Communications Strategy Team,

The VP of Communications Strategy is responsible leading the development & evolution of the communications strategy and media planning approach. You are experienced at crafting business minded strategic solutions rather than tactical media planning. You will also lead and inspire the strategy team, working across a number of clients where you will be charged with setting the bar for best in class work.
The VP Comms Strategy establishes the mechanics of the campaign-the key opportunities across the consumer journey, communications tasks, and appropriate roles for channels-to achieve the business challenges set forth in the brief. You are a proven leader, in developing teams and mentoring junior talent, with demonstrated ability to inspire ideas and cohesion and create category shaping work in cross-discipline teams.
A DAY IN THE LIFE MIGHT LOOK LIKE:
Crystalizing client brief against business outcomes and translating this into actionable media opportunities. Leading creation of internal brief and kicking off cross-discipline teams Pushing intelligence and insights to inspire new strategic directions and distinctive work Developing the communications strategy and translating this into the media planning approach Advancing the team's thinking in strategic media planning by challenging group goals and balancing client, company, and team needs Mapping and designing the consumer journey and other relevant research to identify key patient & physician behaviors for meaningful media experiences Guiding audience architectures, learning agendas, & strategic frameworks to guide and evolve the media experience Partnering with cross-discipline teams to define innovation opportunities and ensure these are connected to incremental business value Driving thought leadership content and providing trend and insight updates proactively to clients and agency stakeholders Participating and on occasion, co-developing & leading, client and interagency workshops Presenting work to and engaging with clients Building strong relationships with clients, agency partners, and cross-discipline teams to actively challenge, evolve, and pursue stronger work together WHAT YOU'LL NEED/SKILLS:
At least 8-11 years professional experience Exposure to Media, Brand or Consultancy Experience working in insights and strategy as well media planning Experience managing cross-functional teams Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong research & data capability/ interest Exposure to data platforms such DMP, CDP, DSP, etc. as well as the importance an identity-based data solution plays in driving audience connections Familiarity and experience driving strategic deliverables & processes including brand strategy, communication strategy, consumer decision journey mapping, audience strategy, and content strategy Familiarity & experience with audience insights tools (e.g. MRI, Simmons, IPSOS, Helixa, YouGov) Familiarity with research tools (including cultural mapping, social listening, competitive landscapes) Understanding of metrics, measurement, digital data & analytics Familiarity and experience driving budget decisioning and channel allocation based on business goals Familiarity & experience with media planning tools (e.g. Nielsen Media Impact) Familiarity with audience measurement tools (i.e. Comscore, Nielsen) Ability and appetite to speak fluently with point of view about industry trends and shifts across social, content, adtech, audience strategy, post cookie solutions and topics related to the changing healthcare landscape Proactively identifies challenges and opportunities across clients to grow and deepen relationships Comfortable and enjoys writing engaging (and kind of pretty) presentations in PowerPoint WHO YOU ARE:
Leads and facilitates meetings effectively, internally and externally Comfortable operating in ambiguity and being a beacon for providing clarity Self-motivated, with ability to multi-task and prioritize under tight deadlines Problem solver, comfortable working across a wide range of partners and deliverables Ability to manage multiple projects and workstreams Comfortable pivoting based on changing needs and dynamics Takes initiative to proactively set the strategic agenda for clients and for the team Proactively cultivating innovation / disruption and can effectively integrate new ideas into ongoing processes Detail oriented & skilled at crafting data-driven arguments Is an active & enthusiastic participant in new business and thought leadership activities Strong ability to think on feet and provide clear rationale for plan recommendations
