Functional Description:

Davis Defense Group (DDG) is currently recruiting Wargaming Subject Matter Experts to support the Brute Krulak Center for Innovation & Future Warfare at Marine Corps University in Quantico VA. SMEs will support Faculty Development efforts along with tailored support to the University's College of Distance Education and Training.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Faculty Development (FACDEV) Run FACDEV classes on Wargaming and Wargame Facilitation (1 to 5 days of instruction).

Support government led curriculum development, instruction, and maintenance services for FACDEV on Wargaming and Wargame Facilitation. Provide Wargaming subject matter expertise to support FACDEV events including product development, event coordination, class execution, and assessment. Wargame Support to the College of Distance Education & Training SMEs provide recommendations and assistance to CDET faculty regarding wargame events and learning outcomes, including historical wargame scenarios and modern tactical to operational level wargames. SMEs assist in faculty development and preparation for CDET wargame events and are integral to CDET wargame execution and after action.

Conduct collaborative planning with CDET faculty to develop the wargame concept covering the desired learning outcomes, the scope and duration of the wargame, the scenario, Game Book requirements, facilitation concept, and plan of action & milestones aligned with the CDET planning framework (concept briefs, confirmation briefs, etc.). In collaboration with CDET faculty, develop required products such as Game Books, scenario files to support computer based wargame events, supporting wargame components for Tabletop or Matrix wargame events and Faculty Facilitation Guides. For wargames that require computer support, work with MCU IT to manage, setup, and configure computers to enable wargame execution. For wargames or wargame tournaments run in the Wargaming Cloud, work with MCU IT to manage, setup, and configure the Wargaming Cloud. During wargame execution, conduct assessment of wargame associated student learning and in collaboration with school faculty contribute to and participate in Wargame AAR sessions. Required Experience:

Wargaming Subject Matter Experts (SME) must have a bachelor's degree at minimum. Must posses a foundational knowledge of Wargaming concepts and associated skills with the following demonstrated experience:

Providing expert instruction on Wargaming theory, educational Wargaming techniques, and on wargame facilitation. Developing curriculum (create, revise, and update materials) and instructing and mentoring Marines, Sailors, other service members, Interagency, and International Military Officers. Participating in or conducting Wargaming program assessments or assessment activities with varied assessment scope and purposes. Playing and facilitating (significant first-hand experience) a combination of traditional board Wargames and computer Wargames. Desired Experience:

A Master's degree in Strategic Studies, Military Studies, National Security, International Relations, or other related fields. A military background that includes completion of resident or non-resident Intermediate Level School (ILS).
