Pay Range: $70.00 - $90.00per hour / Salary Target: $150K - $180K

Job Description:

Our EdTech client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Solutions Architect with expertise in payment services and financial services architecture. This contract-to-hire position offers an exciting opportunity to lead the design and implementation of cutting-edge solutions within a growing SaaS platform for financial services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in large enterprise environments, payment systems (credit card, ACH), and experience building scalable, secure, and efficient payment architecture solutions. As a Solutions Architect, you will play a pivotal role in aligning business needs with technical solutions and driving strategic initiatives for the company's growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and architecture of payment systems, including credit card, ACH, and other financial transaction processing systems
• Design and implement scalable, secure, and compliant payment solutions within a SaaS environment for financial services
• Collaborate with product owners, business stakeholders, and engineering teams to understand business needs and translate them into architectural requirements
• Ensure that solutions are built with a focus on high availability, scalability, performance, and security in mind
• Define architectural standards and best practices for payment services, ensuring alignment with industry regulations (e.g., PCI DSS)
• Develop payment system blueprints, architecture documentation, and design patterns for complex payment solutions

Required Skills:

• 5+ years of recent experience as a Solutions Architect, ideally with experience in large enterprise environments
• Extensive knowledge of payment systems, including credit card processing, ACH, and other transaction systems
• Solid understanding of payment gateway architecture, payment APIs, and integration (e.g., Stripe, PayPal, Square)
• Hands-on experience with building and deploying payment solutions within a SaaS environment or financial services platform
• Experience with enterprise integration patterns and technologies, including RESTful APIs, microservices, and cloud-native architectures
• Experience working with financial SaaS platforms or technology solutions that support payment services

Bonus/Soft Skills:

• Strong understanding of security best practices for payment systems and data privacy regulations
• Ability to effectively communicate complex architectural concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams in the design and implementation of enterprise-level solutions
• Ability to assess and address both functional and non-functional requirements, including system performance, security, and regulatory compliance
• Certifications in Solution Architecture (e.g., TOGAF, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or similar)
• Payment industry certifications (e.g., PCI DSS, Certified Payment Professional - CPP) are a plus
• Cloud certifications (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) are a plus
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master's preferred)
