REPORTS TO: Building Principal

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Open the office and ready the office for daily operation.
  2. Greet visitors courteously, determine their needs, and direct or escort visitors to the proper person.
  3. Place, receive and route incoming phone calls by answering questions according to school policy, taking messages for staff, and/or paging authorized personnel.
  4. Assist/Serve as Back Up for Secretary B with processing all incoming and outgoing mail and deliveries.
  5. Type a variety of material including correspondence, reports, notices, evaluations, weekly and monthly newsletters, daily bulletins (if applicable), monthly reports, programs, purchase orders and other documents as required by the Principal.
  6. Perform any bookkeeping tasks as required by the position, such as prepare daily deposits, maintain records of financial transactions, Student Council account (if applicable), etc.
  7. Maintain daily staff attendance log and arrange for internal subbing of teachers (if applicable).
  8. Maintain student records and files, accurate parent lists, and attendance records of all students.
  9. Obtain, gather, and organize pertinent data as needed and put into usable form for State, District and building, ADA, and free lunch reports.
  10. Maintain a regular filing system.
  11. Assist students reporting to the office throughout the day. Issue passes, supervise students sent to the office by the teachers, take care of their medical needs when the health clerk is unavailable, etc.
  12. Requisition and maintain supplies as needed.
  13. Prepare and process all student registrations and transfers.
  14. Prepare and ready for mailing yearly registration papers for the students of your building.
  15. Coordinate registration of District 8th grade students with area high schools (if applicable).
  16. Assist and/or substitute for Building Secretary B
  17. Other duties as assigned by the building principal.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 10-month/8hrs (204 days). Salary to be established by the Board of Education.

EVALUATION: Performance of this position will be evaluated annually by the Building Principal in accordance with the provisions of the Board policy on evaluation of support services personnel.
