With in-depth knowledge of document development and field implementation across all project phases, the Senior Mechanical Engineer efficiently coordinates with internal teams and external stakeholders, handling multiple complex tasks, setting priorities, and guiding the work of others. Working either independently or under the Project Manager's direction, the Senior Mechanical Engineer is tasked with managing the workflow and performance of design and engineering support staff, from entry-level to senior, to meet client expectations and achieve project objectives. Additionally, the Senior Mechanical Engineer serves as the mechanical discipline's primary point of contact for clients, other disciplines, and pre-construction services, handling responsibilities such as conducting comprehensive project code analyses, preparing bid, permit, and construction deliverables (including detailed plans and specifications), and maintaining a strong grasp of the technical and design aspects relevant to our market areas. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program (or a Bachelor’s in Architectural Engineering with a Mechanical focus) A minimum of 10 years of experience, preferably in a design firm environment, is required for the Senior role Professional Registration (Licensure) is mandatory Other: Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit is required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required. Proficiency in discipline-specific software is required. LEED, WELL, or other sustainable design accreditation is preferred. Advanced experience in performing engineering calculations and designing HVAC, mechanical utility, and piping systems is required. Advanced knowledge of mechanical, plumbing, and fire codes is required. Intermediate experience with other relevant industry standards is required. Intermediate knowledge of applicable building codes is required. Advanced experience in conducting and leading field surveys of existing conditions and preparing field reports is required. Proficiency in advanced cross-discipline project team coordination, both internally and externally, is required. Proficiency in coordinating with construction trade partners, vendors, and manufacturers is required. Advanced ability to perform HVAC, mechanical utility, plumbing, drainage, and fire protection system design calculations with limited supervision is required.
