Bay Equity LLC, a direct mortgage lender, is seeking a Controller to work with our Finance team. This position will report to the VP of Finance and will be responsible for all corporate accounting functions. This individual will be a hands-on financial manager with a strong accounting background.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close process, including journal entries and all supporting analyses to ensure the timeliness and accuracy of internal financial reporting to management and to parent company. Direct and coordinate daily accounting operations including Accounts Payable, Cash Receipts, and Journal Entries. Manage the preparation of all general ledger reconciliations and bank reconciliations. Manage accounting procedures and business systems to ensure accurate and efficient accounting and reporting. Manage internal controls for accounting team and function as SOX liaison between accounting staff and auditors. Provide timely support for Financial Audit, SOX Audit, and state examinations. Function as key representative of accounting team in cross-functional groups and projects. Directly manage team of onshore and offshore employees. Produce ad hoc financial reports and analysis. Provide as hoc support to VP of Finance, CFO, and COO. QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance 5-7 years of relevant finance and accounting experience that demonstrates progression. Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP. Recent experience working in a SOX environment. Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections. Experience with the use, implementation, testing and support of relevant financial and accounting reporting systems and software. Working knowledge of ASC 842 a plus. Knowledge of federal and state financial lending regulations a plus. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, and Word). 3-4 years of direct, hands-on experience working with AMB or Loan Vision. Experience with Concur a plus. Experience with FloQast a plus. Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills. Strong ability to synthesize information, draw meaningful conclusions and communicate desired messages. Ability to interface with clients, customers, vendors, and staff in a personable and collaborative manner. Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and high integrity. Results - oriented team player with proven time management and organizational skills, and a strong attention to detail. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
We offer a comprehensive benefit package including; medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401k, and we offer vacation and sick time. Compensation is based on experience and ranges from $120,000 - $140,000/yr. This is a full-time position.
