Summit Medical Staffing Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN Oncology for a travel nursing job in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.Job Description & RequirementsSpecialty: OncologyDiscipline: RNStart Date: 01/06/2025Duration: 13 weeks36 hours per weekShift: 12 hours, nightsEmployment Type: Travel Position Description: 1. General job duties / types of procedures required:\nPlan, coordinate and implement care for an acuity-based assignment. Patient population includes general med/surg, epilepsy monitoring, and oncology. Utilizes a FLEX nurse, phlebotomy, transportation team, Transitional Care Service/DC team and a Vascular Access Nurse to assist the nurse with patient care. CNAs are used on the floor and assigned to each nurse. Procedures: IV insertion, central lines, foleys, NG tubes, tube feedings, chest tubes.\n\nThe following are unit expectations: bedside rounding, hourly/proactive rounding, The Five Ps, (pain-potty-position-personal items, promise to return), AIDET (acknowledge-introduce-duration-explain-thank you) , mid-shift huddle, participation in Learning Board.\n\n2. Equipment utilized in the unit/department:\nEPIC charting, PLUM IV infusion pumps\n\n3. Required skills, minimum years of experience, and/or education:\n1 year of Oncology RN experience required\n1 year of Med Surg experience required\nMust have experience administering IV Chemotherapy\nGraduate of a nationally accredited Nursing program required\n\n4. Required licensures, certificates/registrations, and/or life support certifications:\nState of ID (or compact) RN license\nBLS - AHA\nOncology/Chemo cert required prior to start\n\n5. Shift or schedule requirements:\n12-hour shifts (7am-7pm, 7pm-7am)\nNo Call\nCandidate won t work alone\nWeekends: 6 weekend shifts required per every 6-week schedule in any combination (day shift weekends are considered a Saturday or Sunday, night shift weekends are considered Friday night or Saturday night),\nHolidays: when applicable\nUnit does self-scheduling!\n\n6. Floating to other units/departments:\nWill float to other units that match candidate s skill set, as needed\n\n7. Bed size/number of rooms for this unit/department:\n37-bed unit: 5 double occupancy rooms, 9 lift rooms, 7 +/- isolation rooms, 2 Epilepsy Monitoring (EMU) beds\n\n8.
