We are a team of software engineers, power systems experts and clean energy geeks who are impatient to tackle climate change head on through our energy system. Tapestry is on a mission to make the world's electric grid visible so everyone, everywhere can access clean, affordable and reliable energy. We are working with partners around the world to create AI powered tools that will help everyone who works with the grid build and manage a carbon-free and secure electricity system.

About the role:

As a staff software engineer you will work across the entire platform, helping the team design & implement scalable, high performance infrastructure. You will work with amazing and talented people, who work on highly creative and ambitious efforts. You will work closely with other software engineers, machine learning experts, domain experts and product managers to plan, coordinate and integrate your work.

How you will make 10X Impact Design, guide and implement robust, end to end production-level software to make complex data accessible through enterprise class applications Help drive planning, prioritization, technical direction setting and project execution for the team Work effectively with cross-functional teams of engineers, scientists, domain experts and PMs. Interface with external partners to refine technical requirements, and rapidly develop prototypes to evaluate feasibility Have strong software engineering/system design skills and being excited about solving complex problems at scale and navigating ambiguity What you should have:

8+ years of experience building large, complex software systems and applications, including at least 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction Experience with large-scale data processing and modeling, designing backend services and building enterprise/consumer applications Experience with backend technologies such as Java/Kotlin/GoLang, Protocol Buffers, gRPC, Pub/Sub, monitoring Ability to work in small teams / rapid prototyping environment and mentor other team members on software design techniques and implementation It'd be great if you also had one or more of these:

Experience building applications and infra leveraging the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) stack Working knowledge or background in power systems, though not required, would be a plus Experience with building full-stack applications including frameworks such as Angular Experience with RDF or any other graph database technologies Experience working in a Startup/early stage company with rapidly changing requirements and limited oversight

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $188,000 - $250,000 + bonuses + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
