About Lithos
Lithos Carbon revolutionizes the carbon capture industry through enhanced rock weathering technology. We work with farmers to spread basalt rock on farmland, which increases soil health and repurposes post-industrial waste. Our technology is aimed at removing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere at a fraction of the cost of other methods, while helping farmers improve crop yields. Our team is made up of industry-leading academic scientists and proven entrepreneurs, and we are backed by top-tier investors like Union Square Ventures and Greylock Partners. We started commercializing the technology in 2022 and already signed customers for our permanent carbon removal credits including Stripe, Alphabet, Shopify, and McKinsey’s Frontier program. About The Role
We are seeking an exceptional Head of Sales to drive Lithos's commercial growth and shape the future of the carbon removal industry. This leader will build and scale our commercial organization, develop deep strategic partnerships with industry leaders, and create enduring relationships with the world's most innovative companies. Reporting to the Head of Carbon Strategy, you will be instrumental in accelerating the adoption of enhanced rock weathering and establishing Lithos as the premier provider of high-quality carbon removal. This is a hybrid full-time role based in Bellevue, WA. Relocation assistance is negotiable.
Responsibilities
Build and lead a world-class commercial team across sales, partnerships, and customer success
Develop and execute strategies to secure major carbon removal commitments
Create and nurture long-term partnerships that drive both immediate revenue and long-term market development
Design and implement innovative commercial structures that align incentives across stakeholders
Lead customer portfolio strategy, ensuring our partners achieve their climate goals while maximizing impact
Drive strategic initiatives to expand market reach
Build scalable processes to support rapid commercial growth
Design and implement customer success frameworks that drive long-term partnership value
Requirements
Qualifications
10+ years of progressive commercial experience with proven success closing major deals
Track record of building and leading high-performing teams in rapid growth environments
Demonstrated success securing and managing strategic partnerships with Fortune 500 companies
Experience selling complex, innovative solutions with long-term strategic value
Strong understanding of environmental markets, carbon credits, or sustainability initiatives
Proven ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments
Experience building commercial processes and systems from the ground up
Outstanding presentation and communication skills
