Alloy Engineering is seeking a skilled and motivated Welding Supervisor to lead our talented welding team. This role involves supervising daily welding operations, ensuring quality and safety standards are met, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, leadership experience, and a passion for mentoring and developing a high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise, coordinate, and schedule welding operations to meet production deadlines and quality standards.
  • Provide leadership, training, and mentorship to welders, ensuring skills development and adherence to best practices.
  • Ensure all welding work complies with engineering specifications, company policies, and safety standards.
  • Perform inspections to verify weld quality, detect defects, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize processes, improve efficiency, and address technical challenges.
  • Oversee inventory of welding supplies, tools, and equipment, ensuring proper maintenance and availability.
  • Maintain and enforce a safe work environment, conducting regular safety training and audits.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement within the welding department.
  • Identify and document non-conforming products and processes.
  • Track and measure labor efficiencies.
Requirements:
  • Experience: 5+ years of on-the-job welding experience in a fabrication environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Education/Certification: High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certifications (e.g., AWS CWI, welding certifications) preferred.
  • Computer skills: basic understanding of Excel and Word
  • Technical Skills: Highly proficient in GMAW (MIG) and GTAW (TIG); ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and weld symbols. Experience working to codes and standards.
  • Leadership: Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and develop team members.
  • Problem-Solving: Analytical mindset with a focus on troubleshooting and implementing effective solutions.
  • Safety: Comprehensive understanding of workplace safety standards and regulations.
  • Documentation: Intermediate knowledge and use of ERP systems, Microsoft Excel and Word.
