Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced
Cloud Operations Engineer
for a contract opportunity (6+ months). In this role, you will play a critical part in managing and optimizing our cloud infrastructure, ensuring compliance with FedRAMP standards, and maintaining high levels of security and reliability for enterprise customer data. You will leverage your expertise in Kubernetes, Terraform, cloud security, and relational databases to deliver a robust, scalable, and secure SaaS platform. Key Responsibilities: FedRAMP Compliance:
Ensure cloud environments meet FedRAMP requirements. Maintain documentation and controls for compliance audits. Collaborate with security teams to monitor and address compliance gaps.
Cloud Infrastructure Management:
Design, implement, and manage cloud resources across multiple providers (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP). Use Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IAC) to provision and manage infrastructure. Optimize resource utilization to balance performance, cost, and scalability.
Containerization and Orchestration:
Deploy, manage, and monitor applications in Kubernetes. Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployments. Troubleshoot and resolve containerization issues.
Relational Database Administration:
Manage cloud-hosted relational databases such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, and SQL Server. Monitor and optimize database performance and security. Ensure backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes are in place and tested.
Monitoring and Reliability:
Implement and maintain monitoring tools to ensure system reliability and uptime (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog). Respond to incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement fixes to prevent recurrence. Define and manage SLAs for enterprise customer accounts.
Cloud Security:
Identify and mitigate security vulnerabilities in cloud environments. Work with security teams to implement best practices for access control, encryption, and incident response.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). 5+ years of experience in cloud operations, DevOps, or related roles. Proven expertise with
FedRAMP compliance
in cloud environments. Hands-on experience with
Kubernetes
and
Terraform . Strong understanding of cloud-hosted relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server). Demonstrated knowledge of
cloud security principles
and best practices. Experience monitoring and maintaining enterprise-level SaaS applications. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with additional compliance frameworks (e.g., SOC 2, HIPAA, ISO 27001). Familiarity with multi-cloud environments. Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), or CISSP.
