Habitat for Humanity is recruiting a
Director of Finance
to join their team in Seattle, WA (Renton). Founded in 1986 as an independent affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, Habitat for Humanity Seattle - King County has served more than 2,000 families in King County through affordable home construction and preservation. Since then, Habitat SKC has brought together thousands of community members each year to become part of the solution to our affordable housing need. Habitat SKC is dedicated to eliminating substandard housing locally and worldwide. What's in it for you:

The anticipated annual base salary range for this position is $109,000 - $150,000 DOE. Summary:
The Director of Finance will play a pivotal leadership role in managing the financial operations of Habitat for Humanity Seattle-King & Kittitas County (HHSKKC). Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), this position requires a detail-oriented professional with strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of accounting, transaction processing, and financial reporting. The Director will collaborate closely with construction project managers, retail store operators, repair program managers, operating executives, and external stakeholders to ensure financial stability, compliance, and capacity of the organization. What you will be doing:
Financial management:
Oversee all aspects of financial accounting, including cash, accounts payable, grants and pledges receivable, payroll, mortgages, leases, financing, loans, and the general ledger. Oversee all aspects of program accounting, including construction project, home services and sales/resales, repairs/reimbursement, and retail stores sales/inventory accounting. Monitor construction project in progress (CIP) in collaboration with Operations. Prepare, analyze, and review financial statements. Keep the senior leadership team informed of the organization's financial status. Budgeting and forecasting:
Coordinate loading of annual budgets into reporting systems. Assist in long-term financial planning and strategic decision-making. Financial reporting, risk management, and compliance:
Ensure accurate and timely reporting to internal and external stakeholders. Coordinate and lead the annual audit process for the organization. Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets. Grants and funding management:
Coordinate grants recognition and classification within the Chart of Accounts. Team and people leadership:
Lead a team responsible for accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll. Foster a positive work environment and promote professional development. What we'd like to see from you:
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or related. Minimum of 4 years of experience in controllership, finance, or accounting. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments. Preferred qualifications:
