POSITION SUMMARY

As
Photo & Video Specialist
, you collaborate with DDC's departmental clients and the production team to develop company-wide photo and video projects from conception to delivery. Projects range from consumer-facing photo assets and commercials for advertising use to video communications from our president and CEO and headshots of staff. This role is an integral member of DDC's award-winning production team, which includes our Sr. Manager, Photo & Video as photographer and DP, an in-house producer, production assistant and two creative directors. Your Essential Duties and Responsibilities
(including, but not limited to):
Develops multi-faceted promotional photo and video projects
in collaboration with DDC's in-house production team:
Pre-production:
interpreting creative briefs and project requests submitted through project management system, Workfront, basic storyboarding and scriptwriting, scouting film locations, hiring and coordinating appropriate crew. Production:
staging a space for optimal aesthetic look and feel, managing lighting, recording audio, capturing video, directing talent, conducting interviews. Post-production:
photo and video editing, color correction, audio mixing, sourcing music, working with existing photo and video b-roll.
Works closely with production assistant
to manage photo and video assets, ensuring newly captured content is uploaded, organized and tagged in DDC's creative cloud storage system, Air. Partners with the social team
to create and/or edit video content for Instagram reels, TikTok and YouTube Shorts, as needed. Coordinates with executive office
to capture photos and film video messages with Destination DC's president and CEO. Manages staff headshots , ensuring that professional headshots are taken promptly after a new hire joins the Destination DC team.
What You Bring: Knowledge, Skills, & Competencies
Minimum two (2) years of professional photography and videography experience, corporate/brand experience preferred. Degree or certificate in videography, graphic design, or another relevant creative field, preferred, but comparable years of hands-on experience is accepted. Must have a strong portfolio of photo and video work that demonstrates expertise. Expertise in video and photo editing software: Final Cut Pro X, Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Lightroom. Experience preparing for and conducting video interviews in a variety of different locations, with working knowledge of studio lighting. A strong understanding of video file conversion and rendering in different formats. The ability to color-correct, retouch, and resize all images to meet standards and requirements. Thorough understanding of video equipment. Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite. Motion graphics experience a plus. Excellent oral and written skills, attention to detail, proven experience consistently delivering a high level of customer service. Hospitality or arts and cultural experience a plus.
