This position is with the Communicable Disease Branch and based in the Viral Hepatitis Program. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
* Coordinates with and supports HIV and viral hepatitis reporting by local health department staff. * Assists surveillance staff in increasing local knowledge of hepatitis B and C, general and risk data completeness, and provide materials to support linkage to care. * Serve as a clinical subject matter expert for hepatitis B and C. * Support local health departments (LHDs) in accurately reporting HIV, hepatitis B and C disease, identifying and managing HIV, HBV and HCV outbreaks, identifying contacts at risk and proper control measures. * Create and maintain relationships with LHD and community staff, and support the Hepatitis Program in building networks of care providers to secure North Carolina's hepatitis B and hepatitis C clinical response.
This position will work closely with the Hepatitis Epidemiologist and Viral Hepatitis Program Manager.

* Must be knowledgeable in data collection and entry.
* Knowledge of excel.
* Must understand and respect the importance of confidentiality for all program information related to persons hepatitis and sexually transmitted diseases.
Management Preferences:
* Experience in Public Health Surveillance. * Extensive knowledge of Hepatitis B and C and HIV. * Must have a current North Carolina License to practice as a Registered Nurse * Must have a valid Driver's License
