About the Job
Blackbird is looking for a
Recruiting Manager
to be our first in-house recruiting hire. This individual will lead all aspects of recruiting while establishing scalable foundations for Blackbird's talent acquisition strategy. You will recruit for eng, sales, marketing, and other critical roles as we scale, and play a key role in shaping how we attract and hire top talent. This is an individual contributor role with no direct reports at this time, but the opportunity to grow into leading the recruiting function as we scale.
The ideal candidate has demonstrated experience building out recruiting processes in early-stage startups, excels in hiring across both tech and go-to-market functions, and thrives in a lean, fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Lead full-cycle recruiting for sales, PDE (Product, Design, Engineering), and other critical roles Develop and implement a scalable hiring strategy that reflects Blackbird's mission and values Partner with hiring managers to create compelling job descriptions, define interview plans, and execute effective hiring processes Source high-quality candidates through creative and efficient strategies Build the foundations of Blackbird's recruiting muscle, including processes, tools, metrics, and best practices Optimize and, if necessary, replace current agency/vendor relationships to improve quality and efficiency Set the standard for an exceptional candidate experience and foster a high-performance hiring culture Requirements 5-8+ years of experience in full-cycle recruiting in early-stage startups and big tech Proven success hiring for both sales and PDE teams Built scalable recruiting processes and tools from scratch Strong network and sourcing capabilities, with a knack for identifying and closing top talent Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills Grit, adaptability, and a passion for creating a strong hiring foundation in a high-growth, lean environment Nice to Haves Experience scaling recruiting functions at startups transitioning from Series A to Series B and beyond Familiarity with ATS implementation and recruiting analytics Interest in growing into a leadership role as the company scales
Pay Transparency Notice & Benefits
Depending on your work location and experience the target annual salary for this position can range from: $175,000 - $200,000 USD. This range does not include the equity component of the overall compensation package. Disclosure in accordance with New York City's Pay Transparency Law.
Full time offers from Blackbird may also include stock options, benefits (including medical, dental, vision, flexible time off, 401(k)), and some not-so-standard, extra-fun perks - subject to applicable taxes and based on eligibility.
